great. im being pestered. by someone i hardly know. jeez.

*****************

eh. sometimes i really wonder why i bother blogging about any scrabble stuffs this year. after all, i can just pop by ren yue's blog and BOOM! everything's there.. spick and span(or whatever phrase you want)! even now im referring constantly to her blog for some memory provocation of the scrabble saturday.. i swear our thoughts on scrabble are the same(well, almost. at least they are on the RI issue) =))

well anyway, my take on scrab:

it was our first match without the sec 4s and naturally(ok maybe not naturally since we were SUPPOSED to be practising after exams but that's beside the point), we were a bit lost and rusty due to a severe lack of practise. ok, or maybe it was my fault for not picking the teams wisely enough, thinking it was just a friendly weeks ago.

oh and did i mention how much i realised i missed the ex sec 4s and the ex ex sec 4s?? ya. i do. partly because without them, i have to be the one to make sure that all the juniors men get there on time safely(all TWENTY FIVE of them) PLUS answer mrs doris tan's SOS phone calls about whether she should turn left or turn right.. ..

digressing makes up a huge part of my vocabulary unfortunately.

on hindsight, i am seriously glad that renyue is not a sec 4 or a sec 3. so whenever i wanna remnisize about the past or RI or whatever, she'll be around! phew.

ok great lets come back.

after convieniently forgetting to hand up the cheque to the organiser(oh happiness! we free loaded), we went into yishun town sec hall for the 1st game. abit no air con.. which was - SAD.

i immediately saw many old nemesises of yester year plus thister year. my RI opponents(who has all since morphed into true blue pro scrabblers according to what my sister and i predicted years ago in 2006 when we lifted the champion trophy after beating them), my marsiling opponent from last year(who has since spotted a benger look, what with the flopping fringe and tall and lean? frame when he looked so uh different last time), the orange bag clementi town thingo(who seemed to have some relation to someone i know or sth.), the spiky hairo thingo, the yishun town peeps.... Soo many.

uh ya. so. 1st game.

serangoon sec. played against this girl. beat her. 190+ points. team people all won. 5-0. sighs. when you've played that many games against that many schools, details of games played just fly away.

2nd game.

northland secondary. haha, this one was funny. my opponent was a girl who actually slipped a note to me in order not to be overheard. and she was pretty nice. for that game jamie and xinying became part time runners due to two walkovers in their team. ren yue got a quite good looking guy(in my opinion) and thinking back, she seems to get all the at least normal looking ones! haha. hmm so i beat the girl by 240+ points and it was another 5-0. tralala.

3rd game.

yishun town secondary. but apparently not their team 1. so we weren't that suay i guess. my opponent was a malay guy who looks like a mouse afraid of some cat somewhere. xinying's opponent "told me off" and accused me of helping her when all i did was ask her who put down the non existent word. the world is unfair. hrumph. oh i beat my opponent by close to 200 points and we got thru that round 4-1, xinying losing to her grr opponent. happiness!!(was short lived. duh.)

4th game.

drew marsiling secondary. saw jeridyn's ex opponent in that team. baulked a little since jeri lost to her. sat down and played. opponent, malay girl, muses aloud why my hands were trembling. looks down. realised it was true and baulked even more. how could i not realise something like that. jeez. unbelievable. beat her anyways, by about 100 points. rest of team lost, some kenna thrashed, some lost by a bit. renyue supposedly had a talking(i mean, A LOT) opponent. lost 1-4 and fell from the cup into the bloody plate. austin tan decided to rub it in by telling us poker faced that we were "so close" when previously all he told us after(almost) each round was that we were going to draw RI. which we obviously didnt.

5th game

got clementi town. not the orange bag person's team tho. some other teamo. played with a chinese guy, who seemed intent on arguing with me that he lost by 196 points and not 195 as i had counted. ok. turned out he was right. fine lor, maths lao ya lor. hoho. we uh, won 3-2, with xinying and jamie losing. so kosong. go home with naught. shalala. RI won again. kudos to them la, they are seriously nice and everything anyways. but one day, we will HAVE to beat them again like last year. one day.

hmm, but the whole thing actually seemed so "memory lane". sighs. its super depressing somehow, to watch the decline of our scrabble teams after what we achieved last year. but.
