gosh.. i really marvel renyue's memory for small details.. just read her post and realised that my memory of yesterday's scrabble champions league is already turning fuzzy. i shall quickly type out what's left of it before i forget.. can't care less about entertainment value anymore.. =D




my mother poked me in the side at 6am and i walked for a few steps before falling asleep against the toilet door... the next thing i knew,i was somehow walking towards the civil service club house entrance, flanked by renyue, at about 7.20am. xinyi appeared immediately after and we sank into the sofas around the place, talking about how we were going to win the thingy. =) victoria and nic arrived in tow afterward and we visited our favourite haunt, the dear toilet on the third floor.




ok so anyway, we had to submit the lineup for the games and i got a walkover for the first game against clementi town secondary so i sat watching xinyi play her opponent (also renyue's ex opponent). so suay la, clementi town was like the only school who actually had quite good looking ppl in their team! ehehe. =D we won 5-0 for that game and renyue even beat the national player person!! kudos to her lah.




and did i mention that the ballroom was really cold? the moment we stood up, our teeth would go haywire and chatter like some spoilt machine (khakhakhakhakha). i kept trying to grab all the hands i could to find the warmest one.. and realised that, unfortunately, they were mine. so we kept running outside to get some warmth(apparently, our minds work best when they're frozen/cold, according to my sister. but then again, sure thing!! her words are EVER TRUSTABLE. =D )




the breaks in between were REALLY short and i wondered why they were so stingy with time.. anyway, our second school was Raffles Institution. i plomped into the freezing seat beside dongdong and exchanged "jiayou"s. we started the game and i placed quite a few high scoring words for each turn, averaging more than 20 points for each move. YET, his moves were much much better. two bingoes on and after a few other 50 or 40 pointers, i found myself trailing by nearing 200 points. i closed up the board but could only close the gap to 104 points. HAI, FIRST COMPETITIVE GAME I EVER LOST. SO JU SANG. and what's more, it was a thrashing. but okay lah, i admit that boy, sec 2 only, was really good, a LOT better than me. for that game i think only xinyi and renyue or victoria won so it was 2-3 in RI's favour.




oh and i saw hong en again!!! haha, this time he was pitted against nic. i wanted to play him de! but sadly our seating order was not the same. he was my opponent in marina square last year.. and i beat him by quite a lot. but hey, as my sis and i expected, they've since become a lot better. i spotted my jie's last yr opponent too, and he played with xinyi this time, who beat him. =)




our third game against yishun town secondary was problematic. xinyi and i sat beside each other again and somehow, both our scrab bags got jumbled up and we had about 20 extra tiles in the bag whereas xinyi's had a lot less. my opponent ended up having 2 Zs plus double of some of the big 5. it was quite unfair and because both my opponent and her opp wasnt very good so we could've beat them. i lost by about 100 points and xinyi won hers by a bit i think.. in the end only renyue and xinyi won i think.. or was it nicole? anyhow, the score was 2-3 again. hrumph. =( this time, the loss wasnt very.. i dunno, justified? anyway renyue beat weichen!! haha and i thought he was really really pro.. according to what he said some time ago about beating this really experienced person.. okay maybe he is but renyue's proer. seriously, she has a tendency to beat those top top players and yet lose to not so good ppl like erm me and her irritating acsi opponent. hee. =D


4th game was bukit panjang government high i think.. all their jin yings from last year gone le, so they're reduced to just average players.. i thrashed my opponent by about 280 points and overall spread was nearing 1000.. nice game, and i finally could bounce back after losing both games so horribly that even austin tan was shocked. my opp was quite nice. =) sat beside weiduo and nic and weiduo's opp was quite funny, complaining about rumbling stomachs and the lunch that never came.




after that game we went outside to MAKAN.


but i dint have appetite cuz the stupid aircon was breezing cold and probably froze up my desire to eat. KHAKHAKHAKHA. xinyi tells me:



"we should eat more, so later wont be so cold."


so we piled our plates with all those complimetary sandwiches, some other unknown LIAOS and other stuffys. after reading renyue's post, i realised that i should've ripped open the custard thingo and tried it. hrumph.


the lunch was surprisingly short and we had to go back into north pole very soon. found that we were supposed to be playing victoria school!!

ahaha weiduo playing against weiduo. COOL.



sat with renyue at the corner and overheard a part of their convo.


renyue says sth. her opponent mumbles. then renyue says:

" who is the proest in your team?"

opponent looks at my opponent and mumbles:

"him lah".


wondered why that was the only thing i heard and immediately after that, my opp smacked down a bingo, cooties. luckily, this time i managed to recover from his bingo and put down "bossinG". PHEW, in the end i won by about 120+ points. it was then that this funny st pat runner boy came up to me and wu yuan wu gu asked me:



"what school are u from?" he says

"erm st nicholas.." i say, perturbed that someone was interupting my wrapping up of the game.

"ohh, where is that?" the smaller st pat boy chirped in.

"ang mo kio.." i say.

"ooh AMK!! i heard a lot about that place."

"......" smiles and nod my head.

after my game was done, the bigger st pat boy came up to me again and said.

"may i know what's your name?"

" ......?"

"im so and so (cant remember the name), what's your name?" he says, sticking out his hand.

"seline.. " i say, taking his hand gingerly, trying to smile, thinking, oh gosh, where are the rest, this is so weird.

nicole laughed and xinyi says he's quite gentlemanly. hmmm, okay. anyway, we beat victoria school 5-0 and our spread was not bad. (=



austin says: "you have a chance!"

mr chung says:" you have a chance!'

xinyi says: "we have a chance!"



their parroting skills are not bad. not wanting to lose out, i "yell" to renyue/nobody in particular:

"we have a chance!"



our sixth game was clementi woods sec. sat beside xinyi and renyue and my opponent was quite funny. so was thet, renyue's opponent, who parroted her each time she spoke chinese. he was really cute la! haha.anyway, my opponent started "blaming" me when his flag dropped.

so i had the luxury of playing all by myself! haha, with xinyi whispering instructions into my ears.



finally my opponent bu guan le and so he shows me his tiles, which was a bingo. haha, no wonder he was so xin tong. at the end of the game, from trailing i won by about 140+ points cuz i was playing alone.. he then started calling me "evil" and said something about me being so evil and he forgot to press the clock because he was concentrating on me and not the tiles. yeah right. lol. but anyway that game was really fun and my opponent was FUNNY. he asked for my email and we exchanged emails afterward. we beat their school 5-0 again and austin tan popped over and repeated himself:

"you've a chance. the game against acsi will be tough".



HMM asci eh? in short, i lost by quite a bit la, 140+ points. )= only xinyi and nicole won.. cuz renyue's opp was.... bleagh. and the place stank, of vomit or sth. who knows, someone might've been killed there and thus, the bleagh smell.



the whole thing came to an end quite fast.. and soon it was the end le. found out that we still managed to clinch 3rd place.. but sadly not 2nd or 1st.. if only i had won my games! )= they gave us a consolation prize, this funny clock cum radio thingy.. and we took some pictures with each other and the Rafflesians and yishun town ppl.. i wonder why they like to call us "CHIJ" so much.. and not st nicholas. haha.. ah wells.

we trained to amk hub after that with mr chung, who claims he was late for a meeting. ok lor, our fault lor. we walked around amk(cuz i didnt want to go home and study or do work) and talked ALOT. i finally understood what dongdong meant when she said that nic ann lee would do all sorts of funny things just to sit down(like trying on shoes at bata or whatever just to sit down). TSK, lousy la nic(if you're reading this, then WHOOPs! =D ). we couldnt sit at the fountain cuz the thing was wet, we couldnt sit on the floor cuz we werent kids and we couldnt lock nic in the changing room cuz there weren't any locks outside the door(sighs), so we ended up buying ice cream and sitting at sportslink, with the "ceiling" dripping water all over our dear dongdong. *shakes head*

anyhow, im gonna force dongdong to play badminton with us after her Os end. hah. =D

hmm, after today, it will feel funny not having the sec 4s around during scrabble.. quite sad.. but, will have to get used to it lah.. we had our fun together. now it's time to really say bye. )=
