"CHIJ St. Nicholas' Girls- As the school's name suggests, we are fighting a team filled with all girls. The match was significantly easier than the last match as my team did not sabotage me. My opponent's name was Tan Xin Yi and she was the only female opponent I had throughout the competition.I started out weak, hoping to clinch a bingo, but she quickly sealed up the board. Then, I started "sprinting", in Andre's term meaning to score high constantly. Her plays were not as strong as mine, hence I gained a comfortable lead. I thought she was stalling for a bingo, but fortunately it never came. I wasted 2 turns playing DARNERS/BAMES and RANDERS/BAMES, and both were challenged off. DARNERS exists, but BAMES don't (I played BAM paralleling and she played BAME paralleling too, but when I wanted to challenge BAME, it was already too late =( She had written, drawn the tiles etc etc). So RANDERS didnt exists and my bingo didn't fall through (She closed up the left part of the board just before I wanted to play my bingo there.) So after a few fluctuation of tiles, I got the legendary RETAINS letters (for non-scrabblers, the letters RETAINS is unarguably the best combination of letters for bingo purposes, due the the no. of anagrams and hooks available.) I played ANESTRI/IKON, tagging to the KON she played while paralleling. She challenged and the game is pretty much set.So after the match ended, one of her teammates asked is ANESTRI even an English word and well, how should I explain the meaning to them?Anyway, Tay lost to his opponent, which is surprising. His opp was talkative, talking about all sorts of nonsense, from philosophies in life to getting Tay's contacts. Also, she was quite lucky (seriously, playing RESEWED is risky and probably didnt exists, but Tay challenged and it existed T_T). Also, there is the factor Tay's father was talking about. So, we left early before the prize presentation and after that, I learned that we got 4th in overall, with 1st being RI's Sec 2 team and 2nd being Teck Wei's team. I won't comment much about their victory, lest contempts from various parties ensues." QUOTED FROM AN RI IAN BLOG.

8 words: i am glad we are not like them.

JEEZ. the blogger sounds sore yeah? lol.

ah wells, this just shows their inability to take losses lightly bah. but cant blame them lah, its RI leh.. one lesson they taught us tho: nothing is more important than team spirit and they failed due to the lack of it..

but then again, that post was entertainment mann.. trust RI to entertain us in this way. (=
