hmmm, it has been some time since i last bothered to post a proper entry here liao, so here i am to post. :)))) well, we attended a relative's 80th birthday party at a restaurant and it was great fun!(not at all like i expected tho) i really wouldnt mind going for this kinda party again mann. coincidentally, our family was seated with um sok they all and alex(our god cousin)was there too. it was pretty weird, since the last time we went to that restaurant(which was a year ago), we were seated with um sok, um sum and alex too. hmm, so as usual, i had a pretty strong urge to burst out laughing at him(i was "haunted" by memories of our merciless taunting of him and joline years ago). it was only then that i suddenly felt a little sad... joline and him are old people (18 years old) now and my sister and i are no longer as close to joline as before. ah well, people do change i suppose.

ok, so we were seated at a table and listening to our relatives sing karaoke, and it was really hilarious!!! even my dad was dancing along and singing loudly! the oldies were being played and oldsters joined in the songs while we youngsters just sat there and roared our heads off. but i must admit that it was really fun. all the youngsters looked so amused and shawn(our little 4 year old cousin) sang in dialect too!! although his singing was atrocious(so high pitched!!!), his dancing made up for it and had us all clap for him unanimously... :D

at times, when there was no music roaring in the background, it was peaceful(but boring) and people at our table were chatting animatedly. subjects roamed from my sister's towel allergy to dengue fever to how slow i eat(hey!! everyone was laughing at me!!!! humph.) to alex's national service stint in 2 years time since he is in a polytechnic now and red wine, etc etc. but hey, the food was really good mann. shark's fins, abalone, sea cucumber, roasted pork, prawns in oats and plenty others.... the chocolate cake was delicious too... yummy! :)))

towards the end of the party(at about 11), everyone was bonkers, nutty and lethargic(thats me). hmmm. that sums up what happened yesterday. it was a really an enjoyable and memorable night. this is what i call family togetherness. :)
